Five Texas parents apprehended for failing to pay child support

When it comes to family law, a number of complications can arise when the divorce process is not approached properly. Furthermore, separating from a spouse can create a variety of family legal issues, such as child custody and spousal support. In McKinney, TX, families who have to deal with a marriage dissolution should try to evaluate their situation thoroughly, understand how state law could impact their case and find the best way to move forward. The outcome of a divorce can affect those involved for years to come and lead to various complications when certain issues, such as child support, are not addressed properly.

Five parents who were found to be in violation of their court orders after failing to pay child support were arrested by authorities in Nacogdoches County. The arrests followed a briefing at 4:30 a.m., where groups of law enforcement officials were sent on their way to apprehend those who were not obeying the law.

The parents who were taken into custody on civil warrants could spend up to six months behind bars. Nine people have been arrested for child support violations in March and those who are not current on their required payments are encouraged to reach out to the Attorney General's Child Support Division to create a payment plan.

From property division to establishing grandparents' rights, it is imperative for those who are dealing with these types of family law issues to ensure that they take advantage of the resources that are available. Although the legal process may seem perplexing to some people, talking to a knowledgeable attorney could be very beneficial.
